The wait is almost over! The world premiere of Stanton Welch’s new production of The Nutcracker is next week, November 25 at 7:30pm. Performances at the Wortham run until December 27. Tickets can be purchased through our newly redesigned website. Tentative main casting for each performance is also posted online (subject to change).

Join us this holiday season as we welcome the newest full-length production by our very own Artistic Director Stanton Welch AM. This will be the first new production of The Nutcracker created for Houston Ballet following former Artistic Director Ben Stevenson and designer Desmond Heeley’s illustrious production which ended it’s historic 29-year run last year. It takes more than a just village to put a new ballet together, and as you can see in the video below, this holiday season has been buzzing with ambition and dedication.
Take a look at some of the magical designs by Tim Goodchild showcased in our three unique TV spots below by Houston-based team, Dinolion. Tchaikovsky’s score returns as do many characters from our previous production, but with new twists and turns!
Our dancers and staff have been hard at work to present this enormous new production to audiences. Watch our videos below to discover this production’s new costumes, revised characters, and more!
We hope you and your loved ones will make Stanton Welch’s The Nutcracker a cherished holiday tradition for years to follow.
